Spotlight
The Broward Homebound Program Inc. has provided cost effective home care to clients since its inception in May 1986. The program is housed at and is sponsored by North Broward Medical Center. Other partners in this cost-sharing venture are Department of Children & Families, United Jewish Community of Broward County, foundations, cities, and the client, who is assessed a fee according to his/her ability to pay.
Objective: To provide cost effective home care services to disabled persons and frail elderly.
Because of ever increasing demands on diminishing resources for social and in-home services, it has become necessary to develop programs with multiple financial bases, including client participation in the planning and payment of services. It is through this shared commitment that no one sector carries the cost and responsibility to an overwhelming extent.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for the program clients must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, be homebound by virtue of a chronic functional impairment, and reside in Broward County.
